Your Elusive Creative Genius

In my previous post I meant to leave a link for Elizabeth Gilbert’s Tedtalk. I’ll leave it here, as I forgot to add it before. She’s lovely! And the talk is magnificent!

I was working on my first novel. I would put her book Eat Pray Love on my writing table along with some other books written by authors that inspire me. I wanted to write a novel that is simple and beautiful.

One day while out walking, I passed Elizabeth Gilbert walking on the street in Manhattan. It was the middle of a sunny summer afternoon. She was enjoying herself talking with a friend. I wanted to say… Wait… You… You are fantastic! And I have a manuscript of a novel I am working on right here in my bag. Your writing inspires me. I first read The Las American Man by you and it was wonderful.

But I didn’t. I didn’t want to disturb her… The joy and happiness on her face that day still inspires.

Come to nyc. You’ll run into all kinds of cool people… I will share a few of my cool encounters here sometimes…
